SELT is a leading contractor in the construction of power transmission infrastructure, delivering integrated expertise across three specialist disciplines: underground cable installation, overhead transmission lines, and electrical substations.
Thanks to our integrated technical organisation, we manage the entire project lifecycle, including turnkey EPC delivery, ensuring direct control over every stage of project execution and the successful management of complex projects across multiple locations.

Every project is delivered within a structured management system where planning, health and safety (Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008) and document control form the foundations of our operating model

Our services include the execution of associated civil works, including cable ducts, manholes and joint bays, as well as cable installation in open trenches, ducts, utility tunnels and galleries, through to substation connections and support during electrical testing. We manage the entire installation process using advanced technologies, including HDD for crossings and the safe negotiation of obstacles and existing infrastructure.
Direct control of every operational phase, effective interface management and full traceability of all activities ensure quality workmanship and safety throughout the project.
Cable Joints and Terminations
One of SELT’s key strengths is the ability to perform high-voltage cable jointing and termination entirely in-house—a highly specialized capability held by only two qualified contractors in Italy.
Our certified technicians work on voltage levels from 30 kV to 220 kV, installing joints and terminations on EPR and XLPE insulated cables for renewable energy projects, electrical substations, and national transmission networks. Meticulous cable preparation, certified components, and highly skilled workmanship ensure the long-term integrity, reliability, and performance of every electrical connection.

Our expertise covers shallow and deep foundations—including bored piles and micropiles—steel lattice and tubular tower erection, conductor and overhead earth wire stringing, as well as maintenance and emergency response on energized transmission lines.
Every project begins with comprehensive engineering and construction planning that considers terrain conditions, existing infrastructure interfaces, and the operational requirements of the electricity network.
Electrical Substations
Within the renewable energy sector, SELT delivers high- and medium-voltage electrical substations and National Transmission Grid connection infrastructure, from the design of civil and electromechanical works through to installation, protection and control systems, and commissioning.

The integration of civil works, high- and medium-voltage installations, electrical connections, SCADA systems and automation ensures correct system configuration, protection selectivity and full regulatory compliance.
This integrated approach delivers long-term operational reliability and resilient power infrastructure.
Our approach
Regardless of the scope of work, every project is delivered through an operating model that integrates detailed technical planning, multidisciplinary coordination and comprehensive document control.
Effective interface management, strict compliance with safety procedures, and consistent adherence to project schedules are fundamental to the way we work. With more than 5,000 km of transmission infrastructure delivered and over 25 years of industry experience, SELT has the organizational capability to manage multiple construction sites simultaneously across Italy and Europe while maintaining direct responsibility for execution and full traceability throughout every stage of the project lifecycle.
