About Us

SELT is an Italian contractor specializing in the construction of high-voltage power transmission infrastructure.

For over twenty years, we have designed and delivered overhead transmission lines, underground cable systems, electrical substations and National Transmission Grid connections, supporting both new-build and existing infrastructure projects—even in technically demanding environments.

With a team of more than 300 specialists and an established presence across Italy and Europe, SELT is a trusted partner for utilities, transmission system operators (TSOs), and EPC contractors involved in the development and modernization of energy infrastructure.
We deliver projects involving power transmission systems up to 420 kV, combining multidisciplinary expertise, rigorous project management, and the flexibility to operate across different regulatory and geographical environments.

Our history

Founded in Sardinia in 2000, SELT began as a specialist contractor focused on high-voltage overhead transmission lines and the installation of fibre optic infrastructure integrated with power transmission networks.

Over the years, the company expanded its operations throughout Italy, building advanced technical expertise and developing an organizational model capable of delivering increasingly complex infrastructure projects. Our international expansion followed a gradual and structured path, with direct entry into the Dutch and Belgian markets and the progressive consolidation of operations across Europe. Joining the SITE Group further strengthened the company’s financial position and organizational capabilities, enabling SELT to take on larger and more complex projects. Today, SELT operates across several European countries through a well-established organizational structure that combines technical excellence, operational efficiency, and effective project management.

Vision

and values

SELT’s growth is built on four core principles that guide every project we deliver.

Safety

Every activity is planned and executed in accordance with rigorous procedures and certified management systems, with particular attention to working at height and on energized transmission infrastructure.

Reliability

Meeting project schedules, coordinating construction activities, and effectively managing site interfaces are fundamental to the way we work.

Quality

From engineering through commissioning, every stage of the project is governed by certified management systems, ensuring full traceability, document control, and consistent quality standards.

Sustainability

We contribute to the development of the infrastructure needed to support the energy transition and the integration of renewable energy sources, while operating in full compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.

Organization
and expertise

SELT operates as a General Contractor for complex energy infrastructure projects, managing the entire project lifecycle, including full EPC delivery.

Testing and commissioning

Our operational structure integrates dedicated engineering teams, an in-house Health, Safety & Quality department, site engineers, experienced supervisors, and specialist field crews qualified for working at height and near energized transmission lines.
This integrated approach enables us to maintain direct control over every stage of project execution, coordinate multiple disciplines efficiently, and manage several construction sites simultaneously through to final commissioning and energization.

Where we operate

SELT operates throughout Italy and across several European countries through an organizational model designed to work directly with leading Transmission System Operators (TSOs).

In Northern Europe, our activities are currently focused primarily on overhead transmission lines, while we continue to expand our qualifications across additional areas of expertise.
Our European presence reflects a long-term strategy based on operational growth, technical capability development, and the establishment of local organizations in each market.
