Transmission Network Maintenance in France
The Context
France operates one of Europe’s largest and most extensive electricity transmission networks. Its strategic location also makes it a key hub for cross-border energy exchanges and an essential part of the European interconnected power system.
Since 2010, SELT has supported the efficiency and reliability of the French transmission network through the refurbishment of high-voltage overhead transmission lines, with projects carried out across the country.
The Challenge
France applies some of the world’s most demanding health, safety and environmental standards for transmission infrastructure projects. Delivering these works requires strict compliance with national regulations and consistently high levels of technical expertise.
These standards enable complex maintenance activities to be carried out safely, including work on double-circuit transmission lines where one circuit remains in service while the other is taken out of operation.
SELT’s international experience and the adaptability of its workforce have enabled the company to quickly integrate local procedures and establish itself as a reliable partner for RTE France.
